Current
Community One is currently raising funds for Gold Coast organisation Paradise Kids. The Resort is aiming to raise enough funds to provide two Melbourne families with a terminally ill child a great family holiday on the Gold Coast. To accomplish this goal Community One needs to raise over $8,000. This holiday for both families will include airfares, transfers, five nights accommodation at the Paradise Kids house, theme park tickets, meals, and counselling and therapy sessions.
Paradise Kids is a locally based and founded organisation established in 1996 on the Gold Coast. The founders Rev Dr Ian Mavor and Deirdre Hanna wanted to create a place where children could come to 'help heal their heartache' when faced with a traumatic situation in their little lives. The emphasis is on 'heart work' which means Paradise Kids takes a holistic approach to address all aspects of the child – body, mind and spirit.
