Callaway Golf Stays Strong Supporting the Industry

Organisers of the 2008 Callaway Golf Hi-Lite Pro-Am are celebrating the renewal of the event's partnership with industry giant Callaway Golf. In its' 16th year the tournament is proud to have not only retained Callaway Golf as their major naming right's partner, but to have attracted two new sponsors in Golf China and Bruce Lynton BMW.

The on-going support received demonstrates Callaway Golf's commitment to providing pathways for young golfers, and also stands as recognition of the event's success in kick starting the careers of international names such as John Senden and Rod Pampling who have both recorded recent wins on the US PGA tour.

Upholding its reputation as Australia's number one social golf event, the Callaway Golf Hi-Lite Pro-Am will be held from 2-5 October across two of the Gold Coast's leading golf courses, Royal Pines Resort and Robina Woods.

According to Tournament Director John Ryan the pairing of the Graham Marsh and Ross Watson designed Robina Woods with the renowned Royal Pines championship resort course, will ensure the event continues to grow and set new standards for Pro-Am competitions in Australia.

The competition will involve a total of 68 teams, each made up of one PGA Professional and three amateur players. With a prize pool in excess of $100,000 the event also maintains status as one of the highest paying pro-am tournaments in the country.

The tournament begins with a Calcutta on opening night and continues its social calendar with themed dinners, a mystery celebrity entertainment presentation night and a huge charity auction. In its history the tournament has raised over $1.8 million for various causes, with Aussie Kidz remaining the nominated charity in 2008.
