It's A Culture - A festival of entertainment, golf and the arts
Tue Jun 10 2008
Royal Pines Resort's second annual It's a Culture festival will be held from Friday 20 to Tuesday 24 June 2008. The 5-day program of events combines a number of vastly different social and sporting activities, everything from markets, to golf clinics, exclusive dinners, and even a cooking class for the kids.
The event commences with a unique Beer Degustation Dinner on Friday 20 June. Designed not only for beer lovers, but those who are also interested in finding the ale that's right for them, the dinner offers a 5-course menu designed to complement the flavours and aromas of a variety of beers from the James Squire range. Tickets are $125.00 per person including dinner, all beverages and expert commentary by Tony Jones from the Malt Shovel Brewery.
The following day the resort's luscious lawns will come to life with the Art, Craft and Music Markets. Entry to the markets is free and there will be a variety of goodies available for purchase including handmade treasures, novelty gifts and souvenirs, original artworks, and everything from traditional craft items to the most intricate creations. Large, colourful and a-buzz with atmosphere, the markets will showcase the best and most original Australian-made products. Enjoy a stroll on the greens overlooking the Royal Pines Resort golf course, with terrific live music, gourmet cuisine and entertainment throughout the day.
For even more action, a free shuttle bus will drop you off at the resort's driving range, where the Mega Golf Clinic and Demonstration Day will have you and your family and friends playing like professionals in no time. Free clinics will be held every hour for men, women and children (bookings essential) and you can also take a sneak peak at some of the latest products and golf technology on display.
On the evening of Saturday 21 June, one of television hottest Chefs, Darren Simpson, will make a special appearance at the Resort for The Man & The Menu guest chef dinner. Tickets to this event are only $99 per person inclusive of one glass of wine per course. Best known for guest appearance on Ready Steady Cook, Darren is delightfully charismatic and is sure to cook up a storm.
For the young and young at heart Beginners Tennis Lessons will be held on the Sunday of the event for only $15 per person, and kiddies will also enjoy the Junior Golf Competition hosted by the Greg Norman Junior Golf Foundation, and the fantastic healthy eating Kids Cooking Class on Tuesday 24 June.
If you still want more, there will be three fantastic art exhibitions to view over the period including works by Artist in Residence, Simon McLean, a documentary photography showcase by Kelly Hussey-Smith, and the Arts Shoes exhibition by the Pendragon Boot Company. Free interactive live art sessions will also be held on a daily basis at various locations around the Resort.
The It's a Culture festival is a 5-day program of fun and interactive events and activities for the whole family. Combine any or all activities with a B&B package including accommodation in a new look room at the Resort and you are guaranteed a terrific weekend away.
