Resort Enjoys a Cuppa to Fight Cancer

Wed May 13 2009

A special morning tea aimed at raising funds for cancer research will be hosted by RACV Royal Pines Resort on Thursday 28 May, 2009.

Held in conjunction with the Cancer Council's Australia's Biggest Morning Tea fundraising campaign the event hopes to raise awareness of the disease, and provide an outlet for past and present sufferers and their families, friends and supporters to enjoy a truly 5-star experience.

Guests of the event will be greeted by a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival at the Resort's reflecting pond foyer, and will indulge in a selection of mouth-watering sweet and savory creations freshly prepared at the Resort's own patisserie.

The morning tea commences at 9:30am, and tickets are just $25 per person with $10 from each ticket donated to the Cancer Council.

The theme of the day will be pleasure & pampering with the team from Angsana Spa offering express massages for a gold coin donation and the chance to win raffle prizes including a $150 lingerie voucher, dining vouchers and gourmet kitchen hampers.

As part of the day guests will be able to participate in a putting competition and learn the art of creating fresh sushi at home with a demonstration from one of Arakawa Japanese Restaurant's sushi Chefs.

In 2008 the collective efforts of Biggest Morning Tea's held around Australia raised more than $10 million for cancer research.  Having proven to be the leading fundraising event for the Cancer Council, in 2009 the event aims to raise $11 million through morning tea's held throughout the nation.
