Royal Pines Resort supports Queensland Cancer Council
Friday 14th September 2007
The 2007 Queensland Cancer Council 'Run for a Cure' is being held on Sunday September 16 at RACV Royal Pines Resort.
Run for a Cure is a community fun run / walk open to all ages and all members of the community to raise funds for prevention, early detection, research and patient support for cancer sufferers.
Participants chose to run either 10 kilometres or walk 5 kilometres around one of the Resort's three championship golf courses.
Close to 200 participants will stride their way toward the finish line in the event to be officially opened by local news reporter Eva Milic.
In recent years the event has changed its name from the Terry Fox run to 'Run for a Cure' which has seen an unfortunate drop in numbers from 500 participants to this years expected 200.
It is hoped that as more exposure is given to the event and its cause the more participants will attend in future years.
An entry fee of $10 per person and $20 per family will help the Queensland Cancer Fund make a difference to the lives of Queenslanders affected by cancer.
RACV Royal Pines Resort is a proud supporter of the Queensland Cancer Council.
