The Mower Men
Fri Nov 14 2008
In the name of Prostate Cancer Research RACV Royal Pines Resort's Landscaping and Maintenance team are taking on the mission to see who can cultivate the best moustache during Movember month.
Adopting the name the Mower Mo's more than 20 members of the team primarily responsible for the grooming of the RACV Royal Pines Resort Golf Course and lawns have downed razors in order to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
The inaugural event will conclude with a Shave Off on Friday 28th of November where Resort staff will judge the Best and Worst Mo's for 2008.
RACV Royal Pines Resort is a proud supporter of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and will host the national conference on 16 – 17 November. The event will bring together Australia's largest number of prostate cancer advocates, survivors and leaders with the theme "Supporting Quality of Life".
Two full days of workshops and presentations will also see appearances by Angry Anderson and the Ulysses Motorcycle Club and the unveiling of the foundations "Giant Undies".
Conference organisers hope to raise awareness of the disease and to elevate its importance on the national health agenda.
According to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia the latest figures show that nearly 19,000 Australian men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and tragically almost 3,000 die every year from the disease.
In the early stages there are few symptoms of prostate cancer. However, if detected early prostate cancer is often treatable and curable. For more information visit www.prostate.org.au or call 1800 668 137.
